    Established in Girona in 2018, GALERIA RICHARD VANDERAA is a secondary market gallery founded by Dutch art dealer Richard van der AA, specializing in Catalan and Spanish abstract art from the 50s and 60s, conceptual art from the 70s and dealing in works on paper by Modern, Post-War and Contemporary European and American artists.

    Located in Cadaqués since 2022, GALERIA RICHARD VANDERAA respresents the Estates of Alberto Fabra, Jaume Faixó, Fernando Lerín and Joan Puig Manera and features the works of Pic Adrian, Jordi Cerdà, Joan Claret, Joan March, Pere Noguera and Guillem Rubió.

     

    Richard van der AA discovered what is considered the earliest print by R.B. Kitaj known to date (now in the collection of the Jewish Museum in Vienna). In 2013 Richard van der AA collaborated with The British Museum on their catalogue raisonné of the prints by R.B. Kitaj.

     

    In 2015, Richard van der AA introduced the artist Monika Buch (Valencia, 1936) in Spain, organising her first exhibtion in collaboration with Galería José de la Mano in Madrid. Monika Buch is the only Spanish woman to study at the Hochschule für Gestaltung (HfG) in Ulm, Germany. Founded by Max Bill in 1953, the school was based on the principels of the Bauhaus.

     

    In 2019, Richard van der AA rediscovered the artist Héctor García Miranda (Buenos Aires, 1930 - Paris, 2018) and reestablished his work in collaboration with Galería José de la Mano. García Miranda was a founding member of G.R.A.V. (Groupe de Recherche d'Art Visuel) in Paris in 1960, together with Julio le Parc, François Morellet, Jean-Pierre Yvaral, Francisco Sobrino and Horacio García Rossi.

     

    In 2021, Richard van der AA introduced artist Ode Bertrand (Paris, 1930) in Spain, organising her first exhibiton in the Peninsula. Ode Bertrand is a renowned French artist from the geometric abstraction and art concret mouvements. Her works reside in numerous public collections worldwide and is well represented in the collection of the Centre Pompidou.

     

    Richard van der AA has placed works of art in public and private collections throughout Europe and the United States and assists clients in acquiring and disposing of works of art.
